About Zenit

Zenit offers two types of pump: the Blue Series and the Black Series. The Blue Series is probably the best for a swimming pool as it will allow some small solids to pass through the filter system and isn’t a heavy duty filter. The Black Series is better used in water that is much more contaminated and can deal with debris to a greater extent such as run off from a car park containing oil, for example.

Zenit is well known for creating pumps that will last well and all are made with durable materials, Engineered with precision, there is no part in any Zenit pump that doesn’t pull its weight and deserve to be in there. In the Black Series, several pumps even boast 20,000 hours of operation as a minimum. With this guarantee, you know what to expect from any Zenit pump: exactly what you pay for.

Zenit Pump Models: The Blue Series

The Blue Series is made up of pumps that are ideal for dealing with clear or mildly polluted water. Each model allows for a slightly different tolerance of soft solids so it is worth double checking before you buy what you should expect. This series is perfect for outdoor pools and other bodies of clear water such as water features.

AP Blue Professional
This submersible electric pump has a high head cast iron impeller. AP models are ideal for use in slightly soiled water as they allow for the free passage for bodies up to 7mm in diameter. The 10m power lead is ideal for outdoor use and an anti-stressing system reduces cable damage and water entry.

DG Blue Professional
With a cast iron recessed impeller to pass soft solids up to 35mm in diameter, the DG Blue Professional also comes with a 10m cable to suit outdoor projects. The vortex impeller on this model is designed to achieve a high performance with flow rate and head. It also allows free passage of up to 50mm.

DG Blue Series - Vortex Recessed Impeller
Instead of using cast iron, this model uses a technopolymer vortex recessed impeller with a cast iron pump for durability. Soft solids of up to 35mm are allowed to pass and, again, the 10m cable means that this model is suitable for outdoor pools.

DR Blue
With a multi-vane fully submerged technopolymer impeller, the DR Blue offers truly efficient operation and comes with a float switch standard on single-phase versions. The cast iron pump body offers durability and the cast iron base assists in the passage of soft solids of up to 35mm.

DR Blue Professional
The DR Blue Professional swaps out the technopolymer impeller for a multi-vane fully submerged cast iron impeller. Due to the curvature of the impeller blades, solids of only 15mm may pass through. This model also includes an air bleed valve to keep out any hard solids.

GR Blue Professional
Going one step further than the DR Blue Professional, the GR Blue Professional includes an intake cutting system. This uses a steel plate and a triangular rotary cutter to cut fibres and stringy bodies, ensuring a smooth pump action.

Zenit Pump Models: The Black Series

Stepping up a gear in terms of materials and design, the Black Series pumps all work under much harsher conditions, dealing with moderately to extremely polluted water as well as in situations where water may get in such as car parks. These pumps all have slightly different specifications so it is worth reading all the descriptions before you make a choice.

APN Series
This is a high pressure impeller that is specifically designed to prevent solid and filamentary bodies entering rear of the impeller. Cast in a single unit the motor casing and pump body are made of cast iron with and ecological dry motor. This model also has a mechanical seal made of silicon carbide to prevent wear and tear plus a stainless steel filter mesh.

APP Series
Designed for civil and industrial applications, this heavy duty cast iron submersible pump is suitable for clear or slightly polluted water. Any fibrous particles are cut at the rear and side of the impeller before being expelled. It also comes with an open multi-channel impeller with high head.

DGE Vortex Series
With Class 1, Zone 2 approval, the DGE Vortex series can be installed in car parks to deal with the water and oily substances that gather there. Solids up to 35mm can pass through and the pump can be installed with vertical or horizontal outlets. It comes fitted with an ecological dry motor.

DRN/ DRP Series
Optimized to work efficiently and reliably, even under heavy duty operating conditions, the DRN/ DRP Series guarantees 20,000 hours of operation with two perfectly sized oblique ball bearings. Wear and tear is inevitable with machinery but the optional oil seal sensor indicates when it is time to change the first seal, while the second is still intact. Plus, a special threaded bushing enables quick maintenance through two opposite mechanical seals in the oil sump.

GRN Series
Ideal for operating under heavy duty operating conditions, the GRN Series uses a grinding system which can chop solids and fibres into fine silt. Just like the DRN/ DRP Series, this model has two opposite mechanical seals in the oil sump to enable easy cleaning with a special threaded bush. It also has two perfectly sized oblique ball bearings guaranteeing 20,000 hours of operation.

MAC Mono-Channel Anti Clogging Series
Another great pump for heavy duty conditions, this model expels any small solids to prevent the pump from clogging with a single channel impeller blade and grooves cut into the sump plate. Again, this model has two perfectly sized oblique ball bearings guaranteeing 20,000 hours of operation.

Which Model is Best for Me?

Choosing the right model depends upon where you would like to activate the pump as well as the condition of the water you will be pumping. If you are looking for a simple swimming pool pump that will mostly be exposed to clear water with minimal detritus, then a Blue Series pump is probably the best option for you. But, if you are looking for a more specialized or heavy duty pump, the Black Series is where you should start your search.

You should also consider the materials that each pump is made out of as some are much longer lasting than others. If you are looking for a pump that will be used regularly and can be relied upon, a cast iron model is likely to be what you are looking for. However, for more efficiency, a technopolymer impeller may be better.

Why Choose Zenit?

Zenit pumps all come highly recommended and you can be sure that you will get exactly what it says on the packaging. These units are all built to last and will get the job done without a fuss. Each pump comes with slightly different features so you know that if you are looking for something specific, the Zenit range is likely to do it.

Between the Blue Series and the Black Series, every need and necessity is covered. Whether you are looking for something simple and effective or a much more powerful pump to deal with larger solids, the two ranges combined offer a spectrum of options at a reasonable price. Plus, all the engineering research that has lead to the production of the Black Series has also been put into action on the Blue Series, meaning that all the models operate at their optimum capacity.
