How do I know if my water pump needs repairing or replacing?
If your pump is losing pressure, cycling on and off rapidly, making grinding noises, or is over 10–15 years old, it's worth an inspection. We assess the age, part availability and repair cost before recommending a repair or a replacement.
What brands of water pumps does Slater Pumps sell?
We're a Davey Master Dealer and also sell Grundfos, Onga, Pentair, DAB, Bianco, Zenit, Ebara, Versa-Matic and Viking pumps, covering domestic, rural, commercial and industrial use.
Does Slater Pumps service rural and farm properties?
Yes — we supply and service bore pumps, transfer pumps and irrigation pumps for rural and farm properties across Victoria, alongside domestic and industrial work in metro Melbourne.
Do you ship pumps and parts Australia-wide?
Yes. Our showroom and workshop are in West Footscray, but we ship pumps and spare parts anywhere in Australia.
How much does a water pump repair cost in Melbourne?
It depends on the pump type, brand and fault — from a simple seal or capacitor swap to a full rebuild. We always provide a free quote before starting any work.

Needed a repair to my pool pump back in the summer at very late notice. I called multiple competitors, with none of them willing to work during the holidays period, until I found Slater's. Price was much cheaper than all competitors, and they had good service throughout the process. Safe to say my New Year's party was a success!
Will be coming back to Slater Pumps if I ever need a repair again.

Purchase of a new replacement Pool Pump. Sales were spot on with advice and a suitable replacement was on hand. Through no fault of Slater's there was a manufacturers issue. Peter bent over backwards and literally went out of his way to ensure the problem was rectified quickly and without inconvenience to me. Good old fashioned service is rare these days, Slaters have it in spades.

A great experience with Peter and the team at Slater Pumps. Our pool pump had given up the ghost and Peter quickly assessed the damage and clearly presented three different options to rectify, with full transparency of costs, timings and warranties for each. Highly recommend Peter and the team. Professional approach and exceptional service.

Very professional company. Nothing was too much. We brought a house with a pool 10 months ago. Peter came out showed us how everything works and how to look after our pool. Their prices are great.
We would highly recommend and will be using again for future pump problems that may arise

If these blokes don’t know it… it’s not worth knowing… years of experience and endless knowledge… got a rainwater tank pump replaced… showed me faults with the broken one and gave excellent advice on what to replace it with…. If only the builders who put the tanks in at my place had gone here first
